Avatar — La leggenda di Korra è ambientato settanta anni dopo le avventure di Aang. Alla morte dell'Avatar, il potere di dominare tutti e quattro gli elementi passa alla giovane e impetuosa Korra, già in grado, negli episodi iniziali di La leggenda di Korra, di dominare acqua, fuoco e terra. Solo l'aria crea qualche problema alla guerriera. Sarà nientemeno che il figlio di Aang e Katara, Tenzin, a farle da maestro. Korra sarà costretta a seguirlo a Republic City, antica capitale della Nazione del Fuoco. La labirintica metropoli, che ricorda una moderna New York, riserverà non pochi pericoli alla giovane Avatar, che si scontrerà con il malcontento della popolazione di non dominatori, esplorerà il mondo del Pro Bending e affronterà un complotto ordito da qualcuno che trama per ottenere il potere a Republic City.
